How much does it cost for a debt and credit counseling session?

There is no cost for this service.

How long does it take?

What should I bring to my credit counseling session?

To prepare for your counseling, and have more time to ask your counselor questions, gather and bring:

  • your most recent credit card statements;
  • your current paystub or proof of income;
  • questions for your counselor;
  • any correspondence you’ve had with collection agencies or the I.R.S.; and
  • a list of your sources of monthly living expenses (such as rent or mortgage, insurances, food, utilities, gas, clothing, gifts, and such) and income sources (pay, alimony, interest, dividends, child support, etc.).
