ClearPoint invites families with young children to participate in the Family Financial Fitness program. Email for more information.
Chase Card Services, a division of JPMorgan Chase & Co., recently funded ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions’ proprietary Family Financial Fitness Program.
Over the past five years, Chase’s Financial Literacy Grant Program has awarded more than $5 million to community-based organizations across the country—from nonprofit credit counseling agencies to consumer finance groups. CCCS is honored to be a recipient of Chase’s initiative that supports the organization’s mission to promote consumer health through financial literacy.
Since parents greatly influence their children’s approach to financial decision-making and the development of their money management skills, Financial Fitness educates both parents and their kids on the basic foundational principles of financial literacy.
The one-of-a-kind, three-year program incentivizes parents of young children—in kindergarten to middle school–to learn and use personal finance skills designed to address the goals of each family. In addition to taking a comprehensive financial literacy class called “Credit When Credit Is Due,” participating parents will meet with ClearPoint’s credit counselors for guidance and support.
The children’s interactive component of the program called “The Centsables,” (offered by our program partners, Norm Hill Entertainment) includes kid-friendly online lessons and games to teach money management skills. In addition, the kids will be given comic books and “factivity” workbooks and a Centsables board game.
